The best price in years dropped today on Weber’s Genesis line of grills. On August 1st 2016, $100 was shaved off many of the Weber Genesis grill tags, but which stores have this sale?
In a recent email from Ace Hardware, a promotion will run starting August 1st on select Weber Genesis grills (while supplies last). This is huge, as Weber rarely (if ever) does sales. The email also makes point to the promotion including the EP-310 and S-330 Genesis lines.
Will a Weber Genesis E-310 sale happen?
You may want to hold off on buying a Weber Spirit E-330. If the Weber Genesis E-310 is included in the promotion, it would be the same price as the $599 Weber Spirit E-330!
Aug 1st update: The E-310 is included in Ace’s Genesis sale. All the others look to be included as well.
Why are Weber Genesis grills going on Sale?
Perhaps even better news, new 2017 Genesis models are in the works. Thus, Weber is trying to clear out the 2016 Genesis inventory before the new year.
December 2016 Update: the new Weber Genesis II grills are now available at Ace Hardware. Amazon is selling them as well. Here’s their price on the Weber Genesis II E-210.
Now, will other retailers immediately lower the MAP price tomorrow? That’s the question. We at least know of Ace stores. We’ll update this page as we get more info on who else will be advertising this sale (Amazon or Home Depot?).
Aug 17th update: At this time, it appears Ace Hardware, Lowes, and Target are the only major retailers offering the sale.
Amazon: Check here to see if Amazon.com is in on the sale. If they are, I would buy from there first as they have great customer service and various ways to make a Genesis even cheaper (3% back on Amazon.com purchases with their Rewards card).
Ace Hardware: With their “Ace Rewards” program you get so much back after accumulating points based on the price of the products you buy there.
In previous articles, I brought light to the stingy MAP prices Weber enforces on any retailer selling their grills. Basically, MAP (minimum advertised pricing) prevents a store like Home Depot or Ace Hardware from advertising a price lower than what Weber prefers the grills to be set at. Annoying for the consumer, but Weber does it for a reason- maintaining quality is one of them.
This may be the first time since 2012 for any of their MAP prices to be significantly reduced. We’re not complaining, just think twice before buying that 2-$300 grill thinking you’ll save money in the long run.
Planning to invest your money in a Weber Genesis? Smart move. Let us know if you get a deal on a Weber Genesis, whether it was from Ace Hardware or another store!
