Talk about small appliances that are designed to make your busy life easier and cooking much effortless and simpler, George Foreman is the name that comes to mind, particularly if you’re hunting for grills. Cooking with this portable 2-serving plate grill is easy thanks to its powerful features and convenient functions.

In my previous article, I looked at the GR0040B 2-Serving grill.  What’s the difference between that grill and the GR136B Classic Plate grill?  The coating on the GR0040B is less “advanced” than the non stick part of the GR136B grill.  Cleaning the GR136B is thus a bit easier.

What’s So Great About The George Foreman GR136B 2-Serving Classic Plate Grill?

Unlike other grills, the George Foreman GR136B 2-serving classic plate grill has a lot to offer.

I like that it’s easy to use. One of the best benefits of the George Foreman GR136B 2-serving classic plate grill is that I can quickly cook gourmet meals for me and my Mom (or bro), which is just perfect if we’re both heading out for a short picnic. What’s great about this grill is that it doesn’t create a lot of smoke, and is not prone to a lot of discoloration thanks to its wise black color.

2.) Value for Money: Costing a measly (see current price here), this grill definitely ranks high if you’re working on a tight budget. The tough non-stick coating of the grill is thought to be 3 times more durable than that of the previous models. What’s more, it’s perfect for those looking to lose weight, because you’ll be using a lot less oil and butter for your foods.

3.) The functionality is impressive.  The grill comes with a convenient fat removing slope that is designed for health-conscious people. After digging up some numbers, it can remove up to 42% fat from a quarter pound chunk burger, so you can dig into your favorite foods without worrying about putting on weight.

4.) It’s easy to clean! Completed with grills that have the typical ‘scores’ on them, the George Foreman GR136B classic plate 2-serving grill allows proper drainage of excess oil or liquids, which ensures that your grill is clean. You just need to clean it by wiping them with a damp paper towel- easy as that!

Less of a mess and much more accessible than a full-sized barbecue, the George Foreman GR136B is a great buy (if you can look past it’s shortcomings).

What’s Not So Great About The George Foreman GR136B 2-Serving Classic Plate Grill?

While the George Foreman GR136B 2-serving classic plate grill does have its set of pros, it does come with some minor letdowns.

#1 Size Issues: Many customers found the grill to be too tiny in size- while it did promise 2 servings, the usable cooking surface measures something around 7 inches across. If you’re looking to make decent sized burgers, you may need to make them one at a time.

#2 Flimsy Material: The grill is quite light, which may sound good, but is also quite flimsy as it is made of plastic. Repetitive use may make the grill more prone to damage.

#3 Lack of Temperature Control: The lack of a setting for temperature control also pissed off many customers. There is just a single heat setting which is set at high- the meat that you’ll be grilling will cook fast, but there’s no option available for slow cooking.

#4 Undercooked Food: While the George Foreman GR136B promises to cook low fat meals for two, it does have a tiny shortcoming- because of its small size, you’ll not be able to cook more than two small patties. If you do add thicker pieces of meat, they may stay undercooked in the center.

Is The George Foreman GR136B 2-Serving Classic Plate Grill a Great Purchase?

All in all, the George Foreman GR136B 2-serving grill is a good buy, and for many reasons. For starters, it’s a quality product that you can purchase for as low as this much. Secondly, it’s great if you don’t use grills on a daily basis, and are just looking to purchase it for occasional use, this one’s a decent buy.
